About this project

In this project, we aim to explore the application of deep learning techniques such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), to highlight an innovative approach to automatic ship detection in the context of maritime domain awareness. The paper aims to provide a brief description of the problem, followed by a summary of the CNN framework, and concludes with an exposition on model predictive ability. Special attention is paid to pre-trained models, as they do not require additional computation time for training and thus promise an off-the-shelf solution.
