This project explores gender inequality in Africa by analyzing primary school enrollment ratios and gender equality indicators across countries like Egypt and Ethiopia. It visualizes trends in education, employment, and legal rights, offering insights into regional disparities.

Africa’s Startup Funding rank by country(2015–2023) Analyzing key metrics of the ‘Big Four’

The Power BI video visualization (bar chart race) displays a time-series of the startup funding received by startups in key destinations. The report majored on the ‘Big four’ (Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, and South Africa) while also detailing the rest of Africa. (attached the medium report article)

MOBILE MONEY EXPENDITURE (MPESA STATEMENT ANALYSIS)

I analyzed real-time expenditure of the average campus student in Kenya's capital, Nairobi. This report reflects mobile money transactions for Jan 2020 - Sept 2023 period in KES. Attached is the Google Slides presentation and report link.

I was tasked by a marketing client to analyze the Luxury Apparel industry with a focus on Gucci to enable them create an outstanding portfolio for their B2B e-commerce clients

Google Looker Studio

In some job advertisements I have come across, Looker Studio seems to be a key component of operation. All I can say is its similar to Sheets but more powerful and easy to use, and also similar in some capacity to Power BI when it comes to mapping, but better since it has 4 mapping options.

Advanced SQL

The project analyses databases in MySQL server. Updates and manipulates the databases with advanced SQL subqueries to execute the following functions: windows, aggregate and numeric functions, views, triggers, and stored procedures.

Data-Engineering (web-scraping with Python (BeautifulSoup, Pandas, requests))

Scraped Amazon website for PS5 gaming package, to find the highest rated, most expensive products, and release dates. GitHub link attached and csv file and soup HTML parsed element too. The clean data is available on the Google Sheets links provided. Due to complexity, I only scraped page 1 & 10.

Data Analytics at Naivas

The aim of the project was to create more entry points for consumer data, analyze sales and marketing data at Naivas with the aim of increasing sales and optimizing CAC. The data was further used to decide on the roll-out of new commodities and withdrawal of others. I proficiently used Python for cloud based data management and engineering, SQL for database management through MySQL and Analytics as well, not forgetting Excel and Google sheets which allowed me and my team members collaborate on working documents through Microsoft Office. Power BI, Sheets and Excel for Visualization and Google docs for presenting my report and data Journalism piece of my analytics work.

Business Analyst at JKUAT Enterprises

The JKUAT Enterprises being the business wing of the University, worked with me on contract as a business Analyst for the sales, profit, and purchases. The one year contract enabled me create a predictive financial model that could enable the enterprise make healthy decisions going forward, in line with trends and status quo.

In addition to my data journalism and analytical skills, I scrape data from APIs, websites, and catalogues to create robust data pipelines. As a Data and AI Engineer, I use Python, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Docker for cloud engineering. I ensure seamless data collection, processing, and integration. My focus is on building scalable, cloud-based solutions that drive efficiency and support advanced analytics. My expertise in cloud data engineering allows me to build and manage scalable, cloud-based solutions that support AI-driven insights and enhance data accessibility.
