Graphic Design Consultant at ECA

o Using Premiere Pro, I create announcement videos, short and long form videos that are posted online. o Utilizing Adobe Illustrator, I create posters, logos, infographics, banners, and other visuals that are displayed online and during in-person events such as the Dubai Expo, the ECA Expo, the Conference of Ministers. o I ensure that the library has a new digital presence and overcomes the image of an old, archaic library full of books and shelves. o I use of my journalism background to draft press releases, and speeches. • My graphic and editing skills come in handy with frequent requests from the communication department for help.

May-July 2021

Graphic Illustrator at African Union

o Utilizing my graphic designer skills, I illustrated the 30 pictures using Adobe Illustrator; with the first 21 illustrations being done in a week. o This gave the African Union content to display at their pavilion during the Dubai Expo. Due to the low quality of unavailability of some of the founding mother’s pictures, the display would have been impossible without the illustrations.

Videographer at Albany Associates

o Using my journalism background, I would read the different reports to get the key messages. o I used adobe illustrator to come up with graphics to illustrate important infographics. o I used premiere pro to put the video together which included pictures, infographics, and interviews, including subtitles. o I put together a video that showed stakeholders what had happened so far in the project, and what progress had been made in various cross border regions on the continent.

2019-2021

Communication Consultant at African Union ECOSOCC

o By meeting regularly with different CSOs, I would be given updates on projects and identify ways ECOSOCC could be of help. By monitoring their progress, we could advice the standing and credential committees on whether they have fulfilled requirements to be considered into ECOSOCC. o I created a spreadsheet of various focal points to facilitate outreach among organizations. o I facilitated communication between organizations and ECOSOCC clusters once organizations gained ECOSOCC membership. o Using my design and journalism skills, I drafted a best practice guide that ECOSOCC could send to new organizations seeking to gain accreditation.

2018-2019

Communication Officer at Africa Union CIDO

o I used my journalism skills and background to create the directorate’s first ever podcast, AU on the Go. This was equally the AU’s first ever podcast and it was available on SoundCloud and iTunes. I used my video editing skills to shoot videos at meetings then create a recap using premiere pro. The recap videos would go on social media to give an overview of how the meeting went. o I used my writing and editing skills to draft speeches, concept notes, and memos for the division. o I used my connections to contact embassies, hotels, and offices around the continent to facilitate the organization of meetings. o I was the directorate’s communication focal point.

2016-2017

Media Logger at Voice of America

o I would use my journalism skills to clip and cut out portions from interviews that were newsworthy and would be used in news packages. o I liaised with main anchors to get a sense of what kinds of soundbites they would want. o I shot and produced news packages. o I gave the weekly sports show (Sonny side of sports) a new angle with my weekly football segment. o I appeared on in house talk shows as a guest
