Data Scientist in Progress, Python | Energy Engineer

Based in Mexico City, Mexico

About

I am an energy engineer interested in the Python data science world, electromobility and renewable energies. I've been programming since 2016, and my first programming language learned was C++. When I hear about Python in 2018, I discovered it has an easier syntax than C++ and it was used in many companies, so in 2019 I started learning python just for fun, realizing I enjoy making algorithms to solve problems and finding new way to optimize code. Finally, I decided to become a data scientist in Python because I realized how powerful, complex and useful can data be. I hope I could use all the knowledge I've learned to help enterprises being more competitive.

Experience

Feb 2023 - May 2023

Intern

Led comprehensive study for locating best places to install electric vehicle charging stations across Mexico City as per economic, technical, and social parameters along with governmental open data sources. Implemented data cleaning, filtering, analysis, and visualization via Python. Exposed findings for implementation of dashboard created with Power BI. Creation of technical sheets about Electric vehicle's charging standards and challenges to the grid.

Education

2018-2022

Energy Engineering

During four and a half years, I learned how to define the potential of a place to use renewable and non-renewable energies to generate electricity. Also learned about energy storage systems and programs like Matlab, Mathematica and C++. In my bachelor's thesis, I designed and simulated the performance a hybrid dryer which consist in a parabolic trough solar concentrator with an electric backup system, in that work, Python were used to clean, filter, analyzed and show data from biomass production and solar irradiance. Mathematica were used to simulate the performance of the concentrator.
