Equine Injury and Death on New York Racetracks

Analysis of deaths and injuries of racing thoroughbreds, including where and how they occur at four New York racetracks. A decrease in fatal injuries, primarily fractures, is a large factor in an overall 29.7% decrease in fatal incidents from 2009 to 2023.

Machine Learning to Predict Colic Outcomes

Used logistic regression to predict equine colic outcomes based on clinical data. The resulting model has an accuracy of 83%, with a sensitivity of 88% and a specificity of 70%.
