About
Ethologist working at the intersection of decision-making, cognition, and ecology in animals. I use data to parse animal behaviour and strategies. I also enjoy working with stakeholders using data to support or guide strategy based on quantitative inferences and statistical modelling

Experience
2018-
PhD at IISER-Kolkata, India
I formulate hypothesis, design experiments, collect and analyse data to investigate various decision-making processes, and strategies of free-ranging dogs in the context of feeding and dog-recognition systems. In my research, I deal with complex data, test, evaluate, validate, and diagnose various statistical models to draw inferences

Data Science Bootcamp: Team Forest Fire at Erdos Institute
I worked in a team of 4 people whose aim was to isolate the natural factors responsible for lightning-caused wildfires in Quebec, Canada and in the process come up with a predictive model. I worked with 15 different datasets (50k-75k rows) from multiple weather stations and another dataset of historical wildfire (400,000+ rows) in order to prepare a single dataset for the machine learning algorithms to work with. This dataset matched each wildfire with its nearest weather station along with the relevant climate parameters (Not all weather station reported all weather/climate parameters) for 15 days prior to a wildfire. I worked on the data preprocessing and preparation part.
